There are some words that are said to have magical powers. Some of these have been handed down from generation to generation.
Whether you believe in magic or not, words do have power.
What we say when we talk to ourselves is responsible for creating how well we do, how successful we are, at anything we attempt to do, each and every day. Yet, as much as 77% of everything we say when we talk to ourselves is the kind of "programming" that holds us back or literally works against us. Our internal dialogue finds its way out into our everyday speech and dictates our actions.
Positive thoughts yield positive results. Negative ones have the opposite effect. The good news is that studies show that you CAN alter your life by altering your "speaking", especially what you tell yourself. Positive thoughts yield positive results.
Find some magic words that can help you and that you can hand down to the next generation.
I'll get you started. Here's one little word that can help you and your offspring when your struggling to believe in your/his/herself:
"YET"
As in...
"I can't figure this out...YET."
"I haven't reached my goal weight...YET."
"I haven't found my dream job...YET."
"I can't tie my shoes...YET."
"I don't understand the Pythagorean Theory...YET."
"I haven't scored a goal, hit a basket, gotten a home run...YET."
Some goals take more time (and effort) than others to achieve. But because you're not there YET doesn't mean you'll never reach your goal. You just have to believe and keep working towards it.
