Children are the world's most valuable resource and its best hope for the future.”                    -John F. Kennedy

Confident Families is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children and their adults. We deliver programs and services that give children and their parents the skills of confidence, self- esteem, and help them overcome obstacles that come their way. To allow children to maximize their potential, Confident Families offers individual, small group, in-person coaching for children, online virtual support for parents, and keynote speaking and workshops for groups. By committing to a higher quality of service and professionalism and including support for all family members, we set a standard of excellence when it comes to raising happy, confident, successful children and creating tomorrow’s leaders.

Why is it that some kids have “it” and some kids don’t? That take-on-any-task, can-do, master-of-all attitude.

And what, exactly, is “it”?

I assert that “it” is confidence. And some kids have it because they learned it. Confidence is a skill that is learned - just like tying shoes or playing the piano. And it can be taught from a very young age.

It’s like giving your kids a secret advantage.

That advantage comes with:

  • More self-confidence and self-esteem

  • Resiliency

  • Better relationships with parents, siblings, friends

  • Techniques for managing their emotions

  • Better time management skills

  • Improved academics

Confident Families provides a step-by-step, proven approach to building confidence and self-esteem in kids and adults. Through a unique, proprietary system, kids and parents can end the feelings of inadequacy, reach their full potential, and become tomorrow's leaders.

"A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning."                                                                                                                                     ~Brad Henry

"Mary was my daughter's first teacher.  She laid the foundation for establishing powering tools that allow my daughter to be the confident girl she is today.

As parents, we can't do this alone.  We need more teachers like her coaching and guiding our kids and igniting confidence so that they will achieve success, not only academically but in all aspects of their lives."

Ysenia De Avila

"As a colleague of Mary, I was always impressed with how she treated each of her students.  I would call her the "kid whisperer" because she was able to understand each student.  If a student was having a terrible day and was acting out, Mary was able to reach that student and let them know that they had the ability to get through those difficult moments."

Sr. Maureen Flynn, a.s.c.j.

"Mary Kerwin has made a tremendous difference in my family's life. My son, Ross, first knew her as his elementary school teacher and, later, as his tutor. Ross had learning differences and physical challenges, and Mary taught him with skill and sensitivity, always acting as his advocate. Mary has been a source of support and inspiration for our entire family."

                                   ~Tracey Harden

"It is not easy being a parent, nor is it always easy being little in the world we live in today. But having Mary on your team makes your child’s world that much easier because of her ability to build children’s self-esteem and confidence - the metamorphosis of a child from a caterpillar into a butterfly."
